Who Am I?

Hello, I'm Dr Jamie Willo.

I'm a Darzi Fellow, an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, and I have over 20 years' experience working within the NHS. Alongside my clinical career, I currently work for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as the LGBTQ+ Gender Identity Inclusion Training Lead, supporting organisations to create more inclusive, compassionate and psychologically safe environments for both staff and the people they serve.

Over the past decade, I've delivered more than 400 training workshops and keynote presentations to over 80 organisations across the NHS, health and social care, education, public, private and third sectors throughout the UK.

My work combines professional expertise with lived experience. As a trans non-binary, neurodivergent and physically disabled person, I understand first-hand that many workplace experiences are invisible to those around us. Through honest, relatable storytelling, I help audiences understand what it feels like to experience the workplace differently, encouraging curiosity, empathy and meaningful conversations that inspire practical change.

Whether I'm delivering LGBTQ+ gender identity awareness and inclusion training, speaking about allyship, pronouns and inclusive language, exploring intersectionality or neurodiversity in the workplace through a lived experience lens, or presenting my keynote The Invisible Battery, my aim is always the same: to help people understand one another better and create workplaces where everyone feels they belong.

Alongside my training workshops and keynote talks, I also facilitate Thriving at Work Team Away Day Sessions. These fun, engaging and interactive sessions combine team-building and self reflective activities to help colleagues strengthen psychological safety, improve communication and build the relationships that enable people and teams to thrive. Delegates leave with practical ideas they can use immediately to create more connected, compassionate and supportive workplace cultures.

My sessions are known for being engaging, interactive and thought-provoking. I believe the most meaningful learning happens when people feel safe to ask questions, challenge assumptions and reflect on their own experiences. By combining humour, storytelling, psychology and practical activities, I create learning experiences that are memorable, enjoyable and immediately applicable to everyday working life.

Whether you're looking for an experienced trainer, an engaging keynote speaker or a facilitator for your next team away day, I'd love to help. Together, we can create opportunities for people to understand one another better, strengthen workplace relationships and build cultures where everyone feels safe, valued and able to thrive.
